ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯವು ಜುಲೈ 27, 1916 ರಂದು ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಯಾಯಿತು. ಇದು ಭಾರತ ದೇಶದ ಆರನೆಯ ಮತ್ತು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಗೊಂಡ ಮೊದಲ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯ. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಬ್ರಿಟಿಷರ ಭಾರತದ ಸರಹದ್ದಿನ ಹೊರಗೆ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿತವಾದ ದೇಶದ ಮೊದಲ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯ. ಉದಾರವಾದಿ ಹಾಗೂ ದೂರದೃಷ್ಟಿಯುಳ್ಳ ಅಂದಿನ ಮಹಾರಾಜ ಸನ್ಮಾನ್ಯ ಶ್ರೀ ನಾಲ್ವಡಿ ಕೃಷ್ಣರಾಜ ಒಡೆಯರ್ (1884-1940) ಹಾಗೂ ಅಂದಿನ ದಿವಾನ ಶ್ರೀ. ಸರ್. ಎಂ. ವಿಶ್ವೇಶ್ವರಯ್ಯ(1860-1962)ನವರ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನದ ಫಲ ಇದು.

ಹುಣಸೂರಿನ ಜೀವನದಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಲಕ್ಷ ಣತೀರ್ಥ ನದಿದಂಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 2014ನೇ ಇಸವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾದ ಜ್ಞಾನಧಾರ ಪ್ರಥಮ ದರ್ಜೆ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಮೌಲ್ಯಯುತ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟ ಮತ್ತು ಉನ್ನತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ನೀಡಿ ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಹಾಗೂ ನಗರ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಭಾವಂತರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಸೇವೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 10 ವರ್ಷಗಳನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಯಮುನಾ ಸಿ ನಾಗೇಂದ್ರ ಅವರು, ಮಾಜಿ ಸಿಂಡಿಕೇಟ್ ಸದಸ್ಯರು, ಗಂಗೂಬಾಯಿ ಹಾನಗಲ್ ಸಂಗೀತ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯ, ಮೈಸೂರು, ಜೊತೆಗೆ 2022ರ ಮಹಿಳಾ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಜಯ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯ ಕಾವೇರಿ ಸೀಮೆಯ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ಕನ್ನಡತಿಯರು ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಮುಡಿಗೇರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರ ಪತಿ, ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಮ್ಯಾನೇಜಿಂಗ್ ಡೈರೆಕ್ಟರ್ ಆದಂತಹ ಡಾ.ನಾಗೇಂದ್ರ ಜೆ.ಸಿ ಅವರು ಸಹ ಕಾಲೇಜಿಗೆ ಬೆನ್ನೆಲುಬಾಗಿ ನಿಂತು ಸಕಲ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಅಚ್ಚುಕಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿ ಅವಿರತ ಶ್ರಮದಿಂದ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಏಳಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ತಮ್ಮ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಚಿಂತನೆಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಕ್ಷೇಮಾಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಮತ್ತು ಉತ್ತಮ ಭವಿಷ್ಯವನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಘಟನೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾಧಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದ ಜೊತೆ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಕಲೆ, ಕ್ರೀಡೆ, ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ಹಾಗೂ ವೃತ್ತಿಪರ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದಲ್ಲೂ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಯಶಸ್ಸು ಸಾಧಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಇವರ ಪರಿಕ್ರಮ ಅಪಾರವಾದದ್ದು.
ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ 352 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ವ್ಯಾಸಂಗ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಇವರಿಗೆ ಸದಾ ಬೆನ್ನೆಲುಬಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ಕಾರ್ತಿಕ್ ಎಚ್.ಬಿ. ಅವರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಶ್ರೇಯೋಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗಾಗಿ ಅನಂತವಾಗಿ ಶ್ರಮಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ..
ಪ್ರತಿ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲೂ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಅತ್ಯುನ್ನತ ಅಂಕಗಳನ್ನು ಗಳಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದಿದ್ದು, ಕಳೆದ ವರ್ಷ ಬಿ.ಕಾಂ. ಮತ್ತು ಬಿ.ಬಿ.ಎ. ಶೇ. 100ರಷ್ಟು ಫಲಿತಾಂಶ ಬಂದಿದೆ. ಪ್ರತಿ ವರ್ಷ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ನಾನಾ ವಿಷಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, 100ಕ್ಕೆ 100 ಅಂಕಗಳನ್ನು ಗಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಕಳೆದ ಒಂಬತ್ತು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಯುವ ದಸರಾ, ಯುವ ಸಂಭ್ರಮ, ಯುವ ಸುಗ್ಗಿ ಮುಂತಾದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿ ಬಹುಮಾನಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆದಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಹಲವಾರು ಕ್ರೀಡೆ, ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ, ಮುತಾದ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಬಹುಮಾನಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆದು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಹೆಸರು ಹಬ್ಬುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಾಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರ್ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ, ಸ್ಪೋಕನ್ ಇಂಗ್ಲೀಷ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧಾತ್ಮಕ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯಕವಾಗುವಂತೆ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಹಲವಾರು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದಿದ್ದು ನಮ್ಮ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪದವಿ ಪಡೆದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಅತ್ಯುನ್ನತ ಖಾಸಗಿ ಕಂಪನಿ, ಸರಕಾರಿ ಹುದ್ದೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಗೂ ದೇಶ- ವಿದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವೃತಿ ಪಡೆದು ಉತ್ತಮ ಭವಿಷ್ಯ ರೂಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
